Yes there are rules and the rules say you are not supposed to take any food off the ship.
Can you take food off cruise ship. If you bring some snacks from home thats fine. You should not be taking food off the ship as it is generally Illegal to import into the foreign country. If you take fresh food off your cruise ship it will be confiscated.
DCL says that you cannot take food off the ship and if you tell them that you are getting food to take off they will decline to bring you the food room service for safety reasons. What you cannot do is take food OFF the ship in ports OR when you arrive back in the US. But before you starting bringing the entire refrigerator there is more you need to know about what you can and cant bring on your trip.
This is strictly enforced. And bottled water is fine too. The good news is that yes you can bring food and snacks on a cruise including Carnival Royal Caribbean and Norwegian.
I am immune compromised and must be extremely careful. THey dont want you to get sick from food that was not properly refrigerated or handled once it left their control. The one thing you will always need getting off the ship whether in a port-of-call or at final disembarkation is your cruise card or alternate band or medallion as new technology emerges.
Has to do with introducing possible noxious pests into the agricultural system. You can use the towels on the ship and even while in port. The exception is pre-packaged unopened snacks and drinks.
However if you bring your own pre-packaged snacks you can take them off the ship for port-day. I have cruised with MSC before and this was my fourth MSC cruise. Petersburg so Im concerned about food washed in water ice cubes etc.
