Aft End Of Cruise Ship
Perhaps this is less of an issue.
Aft end of cruise ship. Aft midship forward. What ever you decide to do onboard has to be walked too. No need to register buy now.
There will usually be mooring equipment on deck. Forward and aft although similar to bow and stern are directional terms rather than words for physical parts of the ship. We were on ISLAND for 60 nights and spent about 5 weeks of that in an aft Inside cabin on Baja and didnt notice much more movement than our Inside on Caribe near mid-ship that we had for the first 3 weeks.
Aft is the last 13 of the ship as a ship is divided into 3 sections. Likewise you cant get a balcony room too low on the ship. When you read about aft cabins most people are talking about the balcony cabins across the back of the ship.
Origin of the Terms Port And Starboard When looking from the bow to the stern the port lies on the right side while the starboard side lies on the left side. Ships move side to side as it moves in the water so midship is the most stable part of the ship. The aft portion of a cruise ship tends to be quieter as well as its farther removed from the midship bustle of activity that might be just a few decks above or below you.
Its just a matter of knowing where your going onboard and how you choose to get there. The stern is located at the back end of the ship opposite from the bow. See my post above yours.
Some will have ocean view rooms on the ends of the ships. Our aft cabin was in the corner which cut down on traffic and noise even more. These suites benefit from having a larger footprint than the Mid-Ship Suites allowing guests to enjoy indulgent luxury in more spacious surroundings on longer cruises onboard Spirit of Discovery.
