1998 cruise ship fire. A Royal Caribbean cruise ship bound for the Bahamas catches fire. The Carnival Ecstasy after a 1998 fire. The incident left one person dead and 14 others injured.

A fire started in the main laundry room and spread through the ventilation system to the aft mooring deck where mooring lines ignited.
